Within the 25th Biennial Conference of the International Reynard Society, Animal Heroes in Medieval Literature – Trento and Novacella, 25-28 September 2024 (Department of Humanities of the University of Trento), Andrea Macciò will present a paper on the social symbolism to which the “bestiary” protagonist of the Regale du Monde pertains. In accordance with the objectives of the MeRMAID Project, the speech will especially focus on the comparison between the different contributions provided by the French text and its peritextual Latin framework, which has been transmitted to us exclusively through the anthological manuscript witness Cambridge, Trinity Hall 12.
